Day 1

Depending on what time you arrive in Berlin a great way to wind down and relax after a long journey is to spend time seeing the city on foot. Berlin is a huge city but is very walkable and almost everything interesting can be accessed on foot.

Some of the attractions you can see just by walking around the city center include the Berlin Wall, the Holocaust Memorial, Brandenburg Gate, Checkpoint Charlie, and the Reichstag. A nice way to end the day is by getting a bottle of wine and walking along the River Spree while taking in the beautiful views.

Day 2

There are many free walking tours available in Berlin and a quick online search will allow you to read views and determine which tour is best for you. There are historic, cultural, and sightseeing tours and depending on what your interests are there is a tour perfect for you.

Today is a great day to get lunch around Alexanderplatz and wandering the streets in the area. Taking advantage of one of the many forms of public transportation in the city will also let you get around much quicker and is much cheaper than taking a cab. Google Maps is a great way to find walking or public directions.

Day 3

Today is a great day to go shopping or take a day-trip. There are hundreds of small shops lining the streets of Berlin and each caters to a specific fashion niche. The area around Alexanderplatz is one of the most lively shopping districts and will provide you with the most options.

Alexa is one of the biggest malls in Berlin and you will have access to tons of shops you won’t find elsewhere or Europe or North America. In West Berlin you can also visit Kurfurstendamn which is a great shopping area for tourists. There are over 100 shops here and it is very easy to access. If you’ve done enough shopping, Potsdam or Kladow are a great way to retreat from the hustle of the city.
