Depending on what time you arrive in Berlin a great way to wind down and relax after a long journey is to spend time seeing the city on foot. Berlin is a huge city but is very walkable and almost everything interesting can be accessed on foot.

Taking advantage of one of the many forms of public transportation in the city will also let you get around much quicker and is much cheaper than taking a cab. Today is a great day to go shopping or take a day-trip. There are hundreds of small shops lining the streets of Berlin and each caters to a specific fashion niche. The area around Alexanderplatz is one of the most lively shopping districts and will provide you with the most options.
Alexa is one of the biggest malls in Berlin and you will have access to tons of shops you won’t find elsewhere or Europe or North America. In West Berlin you can also visit Kurfurstendamn which is a great shopping area for tourists. There are over 100 shops here and it is very easy to access. If you’ve done enough shopping, Potsdam or Kladow are a great way to retreat from the hustle of the city.
